This is a short, Novel-like story I wrote, the more comments I get, the more paragraphs I post. Agreed? Now here it is!
((I apologize for some bad writing towards the middle/end))
Voices
My footsteps echo off the cold stone floor. Where am I? I couldn't hear anything. I was alone. I was certain of that. Where is… My thoughts trailed off, where is who? I couldn't remember anything. Where am I? A deep fog filled the air, pressing against my skin in a thick smoke, I couldn't see it, but I could feel it's heavy, inky presence. The cold prickled my skin and I felt goosebumps cover my arms and legs. As I was aware I was wearing what felt like a tank top, and shorts. I reached my hand to my hair, It was long. I'm a girl then… My head told me, Unless you're some man with long hair, The tiny voice in my head told me. Hello. I turned around, somehow expecting to see the strange owner of the voice, even though it was pitch dark. "Who's there?" I asked, my voice was sore, and hoarse. Shade? The voice called. "Who's there?" I asked. Walk to the light, you'll be alright, I know it's bright, but hold in your fright, for you'll soon be safe with me! I had a crazy thought, I knew somewhere I'd hear of telepathy, I just don't know where. Who are you? I asked the voice. The person in my head had sounded male. My head was quiet, maybe I didn't do it right… I told myself, and tried harder this time. Who's this? I felt the person in my head sigh, almost like he was sighing telepathically. Shade? Walk toward the light! It's me Jay! I breathed in suddenly. I remembered, I remembered Jay.

"Jay! wait for me!" The little girl exclaimed, shooting after the boy with the shaggy black hair and piercing blue eyes. "You'll have to catch me!" He calls back at her, "Haha! Slowpoke!" He laughs, racing to the lake. "Am not!" The girl with the dark brown hair, pale skin, and mix-matched eyes, one bright blue, the other dark brown, called. She sped up, almost catching up to him, when they both jumped in at the same time. "Help!" She screamed as a weed caught her leg. She went under. She stared around the murky water. "Jay!" She screamed, and breathed in water. As a frantic last shot chance, she called out with her mind, she knew he wouldn't hear her, no one would, but she might as well have tried everything, she'd heard of some people who could talk in each others minds, it was called telepathy. "Shade!" His voice echoes in her head, She looked around wide-eyed, her vision growing spotty, and her eye-lids heavy. "Help!" She called out again. Suddenly he was right in front of her, carrying her to shore.
